WinZip 20.5 is available from the company's website as a free trial, or as a free update for registered users of WinZip 20, WinZip 20 Pro and WinZip 20 Enterprise. The installer still installed to Windows 98/ME, but these operating systems were no longer officially supported.
WinZip 11 added support for creating and extracting WavPack-compressed ZIP archives. The company added that the desktop application is "designed for Windows 10 delivers dynamic and full-featured experiences on 2-in-1 devices including the Microsoft Surface." WinZip Pro was added in this release, which added automation and task scheduling features. WinZip also announced the launch of its latest Windows desktop application, version 20.5, which it says "delivers more robust file management, a smoother sharing workflow, support for more social platforms, added security features, and more." WinZip Universal can be downloaded now from the Windows Store as a free trial, after which a one-year subscription will be required.
